NEGLECTED HOOVES.

April is a 4 year old half arab mare. The photos below were taken before her first trim. She has never been shod, and possibly never trimmed. Note the relatively straight wall growth, she clearly has a strong laminar connection between hoof wall and pedal bone. Is this due to genetics, or her diet and lifestyle?

Below: After 6 months of natural hoof care she has grown tough, rock crushing hooves. She hacks on the roads, events, showjumps and hunts.
